Effective joint regeneration using regenerating treatments and surgery

News from Venice

During the International „Generation Regeneration” Conference in Venice, new scientific facts and results of research in sports and regenerative medicine were presented.

Over 500 physicians from all over the world exchanged their experience using growth factors, platelet rich plasma, stem cells and hyaluronic acid in their patients suffering from degenerative joint disease, enthesopathy and undergoing spinal surgery. Many of them emphasized the complementary and synergistic action of platelet rich plasma and hyaluronic acid. The synergistic effect enables alleviating pain, reducing inflammation and cell regeneration. A number of speakers commented that combined use of two regenerative therapies enables them to act complementarily and create an environment which promotes healing, regeneration and rejuvenation. As a result, good treatment outcomes can be achieved. Interestingly, hyaluronic acid improves the properties of synovial fluid. It improves longevity and increases efficacy of growth factors released from the platelet rich plasma (PRP). PRP regulates articular cartilage regeneration and prevents cell decomposition. At the end of the conference, all participants confirmed that our future lies in regenerative treatments.
